Hey friends! It’s going to be a short one today, just a little update, nothing more nothing less. A quick call to action on top, we have an official Bibidi Bibidi! discord server. Be sure to join if you want to stay up to date with the game.
How Am I Doing?
I’m doing alright. The weather was a bit changeable this past week and so was my mood. I’ve also gotten addicted to Hearthstone Battlegrounds, one of them autobattlers. It’s a game that feels like you can put it on your second screen while doing other things, because it only requires your attention once in a few minutes.
But you really can’t. It’s constantly making you switch context between work and play, and it’s extremely distracting. I initially started out playing with a friend, and will keep doing so, but it has also seeped into my work life. In fact, I’m playing it as I type this. Just one last game, I swear!
So yeah, gotta get back into my daily walks to get enough sun and excersize. Experience life outside of my apartment, and all that. You know what? The weather is nice today, so I’ll try to go out for a Big Walk™.
What Am I Doing?
We’re slowly chipping away at our first “demo” version of Bibidi Bibidi! Essentially, it’s the prototype we published before, but all polished up with quality of life improvements, placeholder art and some new content. The idea is to start sharing that around at the end of this week.

Official Discord
We also set up a little discord server specifically for the Bibidi Bibidi! community. If you want to be part of it, playtest the game and stay in the loop about future updates, be sure to join here!
Why Am I Doing? (this)
I don’t really have the creative energy to write anything of particular interest today. I have a little backlog of subjects to talk about, but I can’t even find the right words to broach those subjects. Here are some examples of things I have on the docket:
- Why content amount or playtime is a bad metric for marketing research.
- How we scoped Bibidi Bibidi! and end up not scoping the entire thing from the start.
- Why it’s important to get your game polished early on.
I’ve got a bunch of stuff to say on each of those subjects, and kept them around in case I didn’t have a fun topic.
But the thing is, I don’t think its the quantity of topics that allows me to write the newsletter consistently. It’s the space of mind to observe what I do throughout the week, and put a capstone on each one at the end. If I don’t allow myself to digest what I’ve done, by taking walks or sitting down and really allowing myself to think and feel, nothing really engaging will come out of it.
Therefore, I wonder if I’d ever be able to write a cut and dry devlog with informational updates about a game, or if I’d always try to write something personal and introspective instead. Not saying that’s a bad thing, but it is a little more emotionally taxing, I guess? Something to ponder on.
OK, thanks for stopping by! Hopefully we have a demo to share in next week’s newsletter, so stay tuned.
